Meet a tiny hero with big dreams: Little Acorn by Melanie Joyce is a charming board (or picture) book that follows a humble acorn on its journey toward becoming a mighty oak tree. Full of warmth, wonder, and nature magic, this story invites young learners into the secret life cycle of a tree — complete with growth, change, and a dash of forest mystery.

Additional Information: Please be advised that crates may contain small parts that may not be suitable for children under 3 years. Do not consume crate contents.

When the book arrives, here's what you'll get:

  • A narrative following an acorn’s transformation from seed to sapling to oak
  • Gorgeous illustrations by Gina Maldonado that bring forest life to vivid color
  • Simple, rhythmic text that invites repetition and engagement
  • Occasional science-y side notes about roots, soil, sunlight, seasons, and growth
  • Glossary / fact boxes (or text inserts) to deepen nature knowledge
  • A gentle pacing that pairs well with read-aloud, pointing, and “What do you think happens next?” questions

  • Homeschool families wanting to introduce nature, life cycles, and forests in a sweet, accessible way
  • Preschool co-ops, storytime groups, or libraries looking for a seasonal/nature title
