Understanding fractions can be one of the most challenging parts of early math—but with the Rainbow Fraction Tiles Set from Learning Resources, abstract concepts become clear, visual, and hands-on. This set is specifically designed to help students see, build, and compare fractions using color-coded tiles that visually represent part-to-whole relationships. By manipulating these pieces, learners gain a concrete understanding of how fractions work, what they represent, and how they relate to one another.

Whether your child is just beginning to learn what a half is or is working on more complex equivalencies like thirds and sixths, this kit supports them every step of the way. It’s an ideal tool for reinforcing foundational math concepts in the classroom or homeschool environment and encourages active exploration over rote memorization. From building fluency with fraction comparisons to deepening number sense, this set turns fraction learning into a tactile, visual, and rewarding experience.

Additional Information: This set contains products not manufactured by the seller. Please be advised that crates may contain small parts that may not be suitable for children under 3 years. Do not consume crate contents.

What children will learn:

  • Fraction concepts & part‑to‑whole relationships: Kids physically build and compare fractions using the tiles.
  • Equivalency & comparison: They will see how different tiles fit together to make wholes and how some fractions are equal.
  • Spatial reasoning & visual‑math thinking: Manipulating the tiles enhances understanding of size, proportion, and number relationships.
  • Active math exploration: Rather than passive observation, children work, test, and see results—reinforcing engagement and retention.

Standards Alignment:

  • Common Core State Standards (CCSS – Mathematics):CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.1: Understand a fraction 1/b as the quantity formed by 1 part when a whole is partitioned into b equal parts.CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.NF.A.3: Explain equivalence of fractions in special cases, and compare fractions by reasoning about their size.
  • Supports manipulative‑based learning as recommended by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) for elementary grade‑level math.
