Are you a fan of the beloved author Eric Carle and his works? Well, we certainly are! Every year, we dive headfirst into an immersive two-week unit study all about his books. But this year, we decided to kick things up a notch by adding some exciting activities from the preschool Knowledge Crate spring class packs!
One of our favorite activities paired perfectly with the reading of Eric Carle's book, 'The Tiny Seed.' Each child was given a white terra cotta pot and some paints, allowing them to unleash their creativity and design their own unique pot. Once the pots were dry, it was time to prepare the seed packets!
We soaked the earth seed paper from the crate in water overnight, getting it ready to be used in our project. The next day, we added dirt to the terra cotta pots and tore up the seed paper. With careful hands, we planted the paper and added just the right amount of water. The children took their pots home and eagerly waited for the first sprouts to appear. Talk about a thrilling experience!
Class-packs are an easy and convenient way for educators to complete activities with a group of children. Just like our seasonal crates, these packs come prepped and packed for easy use, making it a breeze to engage your little ones in fun and educational activities that will inspire them for years to come.
